AAWD Expands Its Global Community Through New Partnership with Leading Ladies in Dentistry

The American Association of Women Dentists (AAWD) is excited to announce a new partnership with Leading Ladies in Dentistry (LLD), an international community dedicated to advancing women in dental leadership and cultivating the next generation of female leaders through education, mentorship, professional development, and global collaboration. 

The partnership brings together two organizations with a shared commitment to supporting women throughout their professional journeys. 

For more than a century, AAWD has worked to advance, connect, and enrich the lives of women dentists from dental school through retirement. LLD expands that vision globally by connecting women across the dental profession and creating opportunities to learn from one another, grow professionally and personally, develop as leaders, and share knowledge across borders. 

Building Connections Beyond Borders 

Through this collaboration, AAWD and LLD hope to create new opportunities for their communities to connect internationally, exchange knowledge, increase professional visibility, and participate in collaborative educational and leadership initiatives. 

Several initiatives are already being developed as part of the partnership, including: 

• A joint educational webinar, “Fundamentals of Dental Excellence” 
• Reciprocal visibility through each organization’s website, newsletters, and social media platforms 
• Three complimentary first-year LLD memberships for AAWD leadership members and three complimentary one-year AAWD memberships for representatives selected by LLD 
• An upcoming interview with AAWD President Dr. Roya Zandparsa highlighting AAWD, women in dental leadership, and the organizations’ shared vision 
• Opportunities for AAWD participation in the Leading Ladies in Dentistry 10th Anniversary International Conference, taking place May 14–15, 2027 in Baden-Baden, Germany 

The collaboration reflects something both organizations strongly believe: women in dentistry benefit when opportunities for mentorship, leadership, education, and meaningful connection extend beyond individual institutions, specialties, and geographic borders. 

By bringing the AAWD and LLD communities together, this partnership creates a bridge between women in dentistry in the United States and an expanding international network of dental professionals. 

This is only the beginning. AAWD looks forward to growing the partnership with Leading Ladies in Dentistry and creating meaningful opportunities for members of both organizations to connect, learn, lead, and support one another on a global level.
